The BROTHABOY training program provides work experience, training and career development opportunities to Indigenous students. This month we caught up with Business Trainee Anika!
Q: Tell us a bit about you?
A: I’m 16 years old, and am the youngest of me and my brother. I love my sport; netball and football. And I am currently attending Governor Stirling Senior High School.
Q: How come you chose to do a Traineeship at BROTHABOY?
A: Because I like the clothes. When my Mum told me about it, I jumped at the opportunity. I like that its part of the Indigenous community.
Q: What are you working on right now?
A: I’m typing up an interview we did with the North Melbourne AFL boys. It was fun to meet the boys, it kind of made me want to go for them – but I go for Essendon.
Q: Best thing about the BROTHABOY traineeship?
A: Working with great people, I enjoy my work and the people I work with. I love getting out of bed every Friday for work.
Q: What do you want to do when you graduate school?
A: I want to become a social worker and help my people and the kids in struggle.
Q: Favourite BROTHABOY product?
A: The Moon Dance T-shirt
