The BROTHABOY training program provides work experience, training and career development opportunities to Indigenous students. This month we caught up with Graphic Design trainee Jesse!
Q: Tell us a bit about you?
A: I’m 16 years old, and have two older siblings – I’m the youngest. I’m from Albany but have moved from here to pursue a better education at a private school and excel in my football.
Q: How come you chose to do a Traineeship at BROTHABOY?
A: I chose this traineeship because I am very passionate about drawing and art. I also love my clothing so this traineeship was perfect.
Q: What are you working on right now?
A: I’m currently helping come up with a logo for the launch of the new ‘Sistagirl’ label.
Q: Best thing about the BROTHABOY traineeship?
A: I get to work with art and design, and also a lot of fashion and clothing. I enjoy the company of the people I work with. There is a very good bond between the team.
Q: What do you want to do when you graduate school?
A: I want to pursue a career in professional football, and eventually develop my skills in graphic design and create my own clothing label.
Q: Favourite BROTHABOY product?
A: My favourite Brothaboy product is definitely the Cammo crew jumper, which is a design I helped with. It’s definitely my favourite at the moment!
